So Fluffy or Fido couldn't hold it any more and tinkled on your carpet? None of us can hold it for ever even the four legged folks among us. Just to get this out of the way up front if you have pet ODOR issues that's another issue all together. Urine odor is a much larger problem.

How to Remove Pet Urine From Carpet

If you have a pet urine stain and haven't fiddled with it with "over the counter" carpet spotter your in luck! this process is soooo simple you'll wonder why you never thought of it before. If you've found this blog in the Kansas City Metro Area where I live then go to your closest Sally's Beauty Supply and get a bottle of 20 volume peroxide. This good ol cheap peroxide (less then $5 a quart) will work on lots spots of what I call an "organic nature" things like pet urine, vomit stains, some coffee and tea stains as well as blood. You simply spray it on and walk away. No need to agitate or rinse out at all. Depending on the age and health of your pet it may take more then one application of the peroxide but generally it works the first time. The solution continues to work until it drys. Don't drown the spot, just mist some on and walk away. If you have fiddled with your pet stains with some other over the counter spot remover this procedure may not work. Its hard to say if peroxide will work or how well it will work when mixed with other cleaning agents. If you have used other products try as hard as you can to rinse as much of the residue of the other products out BEFORE using peroxide on the spot. A few safety warnings to know about peroxide. Always Always Always wear rubber gloves when handling this stuff, it will turn your fingers white and chalky and it doesn't feel very good especially in a cut or open wound. Also to maintain the umpf of your amazing spot remover keep it in the white bottle it comes in because peroxide by nature is sensitive to heat and sun light so if it is stored in a clear bottle it will quickly shorten the life span of the product.
